Watch You Tube videos on your TV (Coming up next)

Good news for video clip users. You tube will soon be launching a new service that will allow users to watch videos on TV (initially available through the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii game consoles).

For further info visit www.youtube.com/tv (still in beta, and therefore not fully available)
You can also take a look at You Tube Blog. They should keep us up-to-date, so it is a good idea to visit the blog from time to time.

Better times seem to be coming. At least better times for music lovers fed up with watching our favorite video clips on our small PCs and mobile computers.

Jailhouse Rock (original song + 2 best versions)

"Jailhouse Rock" is a song written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller that first became a hit for Elvis Presley. The song was first released as a 45rpm single on September 24, 1957, to coincide with the release of Presley's motion picture, Jailhouse Rock. Composer Mike Stoller can be seen playing piano in the film presentation of the song.

The song as sung by Elvis Presley is #67 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time[1] and was named one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.

You have all the info you need above, now its time to listen to music played by three monsters of Rock and Roll music.

Below you will find the original version (colorized) sung by the king of kings, Elvis Presley. As well as the versions from the Blues Brothers recorded for their movie back in the early 80's (don't miss the last minute of the video), and at last Queen performing Jailhouse Rock at the Montreal Forum in Montreal in 1981.

You will also find the letters on the bottom of the post. And now, just prick up your ears and have fun.

The warden threw a party in the county jail
The prisonband was there and they began to wail
The joint was jumping and the place began to swing
You should have heard those knocked out jailbirds sing

Lets rock
Everybody lets rock
Everybody on the whole cell block
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock

Spider murphy played the tenor saxophone
Little joe was blowin on the slide trombone
The drummerboy from illinois went crash boom bang
The whole rhythm section was the purple gang

Lets rock
Everybody lets rock
Everybody on the whole cell block
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock

Well number 47 said to number 3
Youre the cutest jailbird I ever did see
I surell be delighted with your company
Come on and do the jailhouse rock with me

Lets rock
Everybody lets rock
Everybody on the whole cell block
They were dancing to the jailhouse rock
Lets rock!

Sad sack was sittin on a block of stone
Way over in the corner weepin all alone
The warden said hey buddy dont you be no square
If you cant find a partner use a wooden chair

Lets rock
Everybody lets rock
Everybody on the whole cell block
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock

They were dancing to the jailhouse rock
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock
Everybody on the whole cell block
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock

They was dancing to, dancing to, dancing to, dancing to
Dancing to the jailhouse rock
Oh they was dancing to, dancing to, dancing to, dancing to
Dancing to the jailhouse rock
Everybody on the whole cell block
They was dancing to the jailhouse rock

100 Greatest Guitar Solos

I've just stumbled upon a very interesting site related to the best guitarist in recent history. I have pasted the text below.

Click on links for more details.

100 Greatest Guitar Solos

http://guitar.about.com/library/bl100greatest.htm

“Every guitarist has opinions on what some of the greatest recorded guitar solos are. While there are many that are commonly regarded as "great", there are lots of others that don't get as much attention. Not too long ago, the editors of the fabulous Guitar World magazine (which I highly recommend) put together a reader's poll, to find out what their readers considered to be the best guitar solos of all time. The results surely reflected the magazine's demographic (the results excluded jazz solos, amongst many other types of music), but no one could argue the 100 selections boasted some great guitar work. What follows is the list of all 100 songs selected, accompanied by the guitarist who played the solo.”

Songbeat VS Spotify

Both Songbeat and Spotify are Desktop music players that allow users to find and listen to music very easily. Besides, both services have many features in common such as the possibility to organize your songs, to label and filter them, etc. You can also share your music with other users by making playlists or simply by sending links to your profile or to the song you want to share.

In short, you can do more or less the same things with both sites, and you can obviously listen to full length tracks in any case. However when it comes to browse differences arise, Spotify is a much more "visual", album portraits are on display and songs are organized by decades and genders on the same window. Songbeat looks much more spartan but it is a powerfull tool that allows you to download up to 25 songs for free or burn CDs.

Ops I forgot something. remember that it is required an invite to join Spotify, you can either ask for it or tell a friend to send you an invitation directly (it is much faster) and also remember that Songbeat is a german based company and therefore they are subjected to the german laws related to music downloads.

For further information click here for Spotify and here for Songbeat.

The Freesound Project: A Huge database of sounds

The Freesound project is likely to be the largest database of sounds on the internet. If you are looking for music this is not your website, you won't find a single song there.

All the files are free and can be downloaded and used under Creative Commons Sampling Plus License. You can either search for sounds or browse tags, packs and users.

Don't forget the forum, there are more than 820000 registered users and it is very active, I am sure you will find anything related to audio snippets, samples, recordings, bleeps... Besides, they also have a blog, which is the ideal option to get updated.

The RS 500 Greatest songs of all time: Complete Playlist

Below you will find the complete Play list of the Rolling Stone Magazine 500 Greatest song of all time. Many of the songs are not full length tracks, if 30 seconds are not enough for you just search for the song of your choice, there is a search box on the bottom of the Play List.

I have also included a widget with all the titles of the songs, just click your track and you will get more info on the RS website. Not enough for you? ok my friend, I also have found the lyrics for you on metrolyrics, I could find more links for you but that would be illegal and I should respect the law.

By the way, there is a forum on RS website, it is pretty interesting if you really like music.
